We had Buster in from Howard Little Excavation to do the scrubbing of the lot (removing the stumps) and excavate for the foundation. Boy what a gentle touch he has with that big machine...

It was a pretty foggy morning but that didn't seem to deter Buster. It seemed to take him no time at all.

The ditch by the road was cleared and the culvert was dropped off with some gravel. This will be where the driveway goes. Soon after, the culvert was put in place and covered over with the gravel.

Did I mention the delicate touch? Take a look at this tree relocation. Buster just picked the tree up and put it in a new spot in no time. Impressive.

You can see here that the fog is starting to burn off as the day progresses.

Here's the finished hole, viewing it from the back. How did he get it so flat just using the backhoe? I think he may have done this before. The basement will be a walkout at the back and the ground will be graded at the front so there is pretty much a full height concrete wall.

Now on to drilling the well and putting in the footings...
